Arts Camp Staff

Thames Valley Music School Arts Camp provides a creative environment in Southeastern Connecticut that introduces and welcomes a diverse population of children ages 6 -13 to experience the arts through specially designed hands-on exploration and creative arts experiences. Below are our highly qualified and exceptionally dedicated staff:

Libby Friedman, Camp Director.
Libby, a certified camp director by the State of CT, is assistant director of the Ammerman Center for Arts & Technology at Connecticut College and has worked at Mystic Seaport & New London Landmarks. She received a B.A. in art and art history from Connecticut College. This is her 12th year at Arts Camp.

Genny Christensen, Assistant Director/Scholarship Coordinator
Genny is a second grade teacher at the Oakdale Elementary school in Montville. She holds Masters in Elementary education, and is currently working on masters in Reading and language arts. This is Genny's 7th year at Arts Camp.

Jeannie Williams, Dance
Choreographer and teacher of dance and creative movement at Pine Point School in Stonington for last 29 years; Chair of the Fine Arts Department at PPS; occasional rover with Mystic Paper Beasts. This is Jeannie's 8th year at Arts Camp.

Jeff Kerr, Musical Theater
Jeff is the Director of Vocal Music and Music Technology at Bacon Academy in Colchester, CT. He has been a music educator for 14 years, and has taught at all levels in MA, RI & CT. Jeff is also a performer and has performed with The Jamestown Community Theatre, Operafest and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. This is Jeff's 5th year at Arts Camp.

Maria Iacoi, Art
Maria has taught art at Pine Point for 24 years. She is involved in taking art outside the classroom walls, and loves exploring education and arts opportunities with different community groups. This is Maria's 5th year at Arts Camp.

Monique Brook, Musical Theater
Monique earned a Masters in Education and a BA in Music. She has had a variety of jobs ranging from radio, cruise ship entertainment, acting, television host to news reporter. She enjoys teaching music to young children. Monique is an Emmy award winning reporter and won best supporting actress at the NY Int'l film festival. This past year, Monique taught music at the Friendship School in Waterford and in the Groton Public School system. This is Monique's 3rd year at Arts Camp.

Lisa Kerr, Circus Arts
Lisa Kerr is a graduate of the Trinity Repertory Conservatory in Prov., RI. Lisa has served as theater director and creative dramatics teacher in many schools and community centers. She has recently served as the Program Developer and Teacher at the Providence Children's Museum and has collaborated on theater projects at the Southern Massachusetts Arts Collaborative, The Valley Stage Theater Company (MA), the All Children's Theater (RI), the Children's Museum of SE CT, and Mystic Seaport. This is Lisa's 3rd year at Arts Camp.
